How To Register A Domain Name

In this video I will show you how to register a domain name on 1and1.fr, which is the company I use to register my domains.
1and1.fr is a very reliable registrar and is actually cheaper than most of the big names including GoDaddy.com, Register.com, and Yahoo.com.

There are lots of advantages by using your own domain name:

• Name recognition: Instead of using something like cyril.free.fr, you use www.cyriljarnias.fr.
• Professional image: using subdomain name gives a more professional feel to your website.
• Low price: Most domain name cost less than 10 euros tax inclusive per year. If you are taking your online business seriously, 10 euros is the minimum you should invest.

One of the reason why we choose 1and1.fr to purchase our domain name is because it offers the possibility to buy both .com and .fr domain name. If you are registering for .fr domain name (ex:www.cyriljarnias.fr), I strongly suggest you to purchase the .com domain name (ex: www.cyriljarnias.com) as well and redirect all visitors to the main domain name you use to setup your website.

However  I do not recommend you to purchase www.1and1.fr web hosting package. I’ll explain this later in another article.
